What is a pluot?

I saw them at Trader Joe's and they looked tasty. What are they?

    Dear Mose's new friend,

Although Mose does not grow pluots on the farm (beets only), these tasty fruits are a personal favorite! Pluots resemble a plum, but they are actually a cross hybrid of plum and apricot, being ¾% plum and ¼% apricot (wikipedia). Mose likes them because they are sweet and juicy (just like a plum), but not has soft. They also appear to be a bit larger than plums. These fruits are packed with essential vitamins, notibly vitamin A, and they appear in stores during late summer and fall.

It's a hybrid of a plum and an apricot: 3/4 plum and 1/4 apricot.
