i like this question ,, if a have a remote control for my wife i will always use the mute buttons. you know women when they start to talk during confrontation we have no match against them ( pardon me girls ok but reality bites ) ... 2ND will the pause button in case she start throwing thing's 3rd will be the the off button if i want to get rid of her...

The pause button. When I want to change the channel and he's watching sports center it would be useful. When I want to smack him without him knowing it would be useful. I can see a lot of situations to where the pause button would be useful.
With my mom it would be the Mute button.
