This is only for true Yankee fans...?
Now that A-Rod is gone, and you all have had enough years to defend his poor playoff play, correctly stating that he is the greatest player( or should be statistically spec.) to play baseball, how do all of you yankee fans judge his time in NY?
Now that he's gone, do all of you steel feel that it was "good years" here in NY with this money hungry looser as 99.9% of you fans thougth until game 4 of the 2007 world series??
I mean, we all have seen great players in different sports that eventually prefer to play for less money(assuming that as A-Rod, that player is set for life financialy speaking) if they play for a contender. And what better contender in baseball than the NY Yankess???

Great player and will have a host of all time records by the time his career is over if he stays healthy. One player doesn't make a team. Look at all the super stars and HOF'ers who never played or won a series.

He is a great player & had many good stats but even though his performance wasn't so great in the play-offs, I still will be a fan of his no matter where he goes.
Georgie Porgie,
Yankees always better than Tigers: Yankees won more games than the Tigers in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's & 2000's, won more World Series in that time span than Tigers, had more winning seasons, more division titles, made play-offs last 12 seasons, Tigers went to World Series in 2006 & lost(choked ) longer current consective winning season streak Yankees 1993-2007, Tigers 2006-2007, Yankees are a contender & the Tigers are a pretender. You say Yankees haven't won a series in the 21st century, so what have your beloved Tigers won lately? All those years of losing 100+ games. What a team. For the Tiger fans that I do respect, sorry for the rant, but Georgie Porgie makes a fool of himself.

Those were great years; i think its really stupid the way boras has basicly canceled out the team with the most money in baseball. I don't think A-Rod will go anywhere other than New York for the money he's asking for. I loved A-Rod the years he's been with the Yankees but now im trying to forget about them.

well I'm a die hard Yankee fan and yes even though he did poorly in the post season almost every year he is still a good player. i mean look at his numbers he is the best right now and he may be the best for a really long time. and you are right about the money hungry part do you hear what he is asking for now??? 350 million! that is bull he is good but not 1 player is worth that much.

After this stunt Arod pulled with Ny this yr,I can't even begin to tell you how much i can't stand him! He will be going to his 4th club! 4TH!! He has no loyalties to any club,It's all about the money! His heart's not in BB,and that makes me sad!I don't care where he goes,There are plenty of Great clubs he can go to,Boston,Detriot,LA,,Even the Met's! But he should take some of that money and invest it in a real good therapist,God know's he needs one! He can't commit to anything! not even his marrage,This goes back from when his father left his mother and him,,he's said this 1000 times!

He is a very good player and NYers do not appreciate good players with independence. They want jelly rolls like Torre and Willie Randolph

to answer you question as to what better contender than the ny yankees;
that list looks like this
Boston
Detroit
LA
Cleveland
Florida
Arizona
Chicago
any "real" non-yankee baseball fan would tell you that the yankees are toast and a little FYI:
THE YANKEES HAVE NOT WON A WORLD SERIES IN THE 21ST CENTURY. DEAL WITH IT!

He is a good player, but if he doesn't want to be here, then the Yankees should let him go.

great regular season player, reached milestones with the team, but was greedy, and not clutch in the playoffs
