Vanessa carleton's song Annie?

She says she's with her boyfriend when she's with this girl so I'm assuming it's a friend. The line that says "I'd give my bones" suggests she's dying of leukemia and isn't expected to make it. I would suggest it's a fan but that's not for sure.

This is what I've heard/read from other sources. It's about a girl that Vanessa met through a charity organization or something. I can't remember exactly what. The girl had leukemia, and was apparently supposed to die. The girl's wish was to meet Vanessa Carlton, and apparently Vanessa was so touched by meeting her (her name was Victoria, I believe) that she wrote a song about it. (She named the song "Annie" because it was easier to say or something.) The good news is, Victoria survived. The song is probably one of my all time favorites, and I cried when I first heard it.
