Question for the martini drinkers?

In a classic gin martini (or as I pour them; a Churchill), would you think it odd that instead of an olive, I throw in a cube of cheddar cheese? Let it sit in there until you're done. Would anyone try this and what do you think?

I would think that it's strange but who cares? In the past 15 years Martini's have had a boom in popularity. While some may argue (rightly I think) that an Appletini is not a true Martini but you can't say that all these new attempts haven't fostered a bunch of really tasty and inventive cocktails. I might look strangley at a drink with a cheese cube in it but no moreso than I did with peeled grapes, espresso beans, watermelon balls etc and they all turned out to be pretty tasty.

We use blue cheese stuffed olives a lot of times in our martinis so cheddar cheese sounds like it might be interesting as well. I'd give it a shot...

I don't think so. But you give it a try and let us know. Give me onions, a Gibson.
