Ga. State Parks is open all year. I am going Thanksgiving week to Hard Labor Creek Park.. If you go www.gastateparks.org you will find all of the parks and the location of each. Have a good time and bring warm clothes.

How about Guntersville State Park in N.E. Alabama? Best bass fishing lake in the country, lots of hiking trails, close to many historical attractions, golf course at a great price, camping spots, with and without bathrooms, sitting right on the lake. Very nice, quiet, scenic area.
Hope you consider this as a plausible option.
