Basically the process is quite straightforward (even for technology-challenged people ;) ). The reason DVD/CD copying works when you only have one DVD burner/CD burner is because the original DVD/CD you want to copy is first transferred/copied to a "temp file/image" on the computer's hard drive. Yes, the whole DVD is first plopped onto your computer's storage drive (hard drive), THEN, the software (check out the following link to some good software for copying dvds) is copied from there, to the newly inserted blank DVD... all w/o having two drives, merely one.
Here's a link to some decent software...

Take care and good luck!

Most DVD copying software have the ability to store the files on your PC.
Once it has ripped the contents off the DVD it will eject the disk and ask you to put in a blank DVD disk.
Chuck in a blank DVD, close the drive and then the software will burn it. Upon completion the burning software will most likely eject the disk again and then it is ready to be played on a DVD player!
Hope you find this information useful!

You will have to insert the DVD you want to copy into your computer, and run it through a program like DivX, to copy, and compress it. Once it does that, then you can burn it onto a DVD.

You need to have another disk drive installed but you only need one program to do it. I suggest Nero. Just put the main disk in the first drive, and the blank disk in the second drive, then open up the program you're using.

You need a program....I like NERO.
You install the program & follow the instructions......
First you RIP (take the information FROM one disk) then you remove the disk.....then you insert your blank disk & BURN.
