Sounds like a charging problem. Just enough juice to start but when you turn something else on that pulls current it dies. I bet the horn wont work either when this happens. Go have your battery and alternator and belts checked.

The battery could have a bad cell or connection.

The alternator could be faulty and not putting out enough current.

The belt that drives the alternator could be loose and causing it not to work correctly.

All of these are cheap and easy fixes but it this isn't it, you need to get your electrical system checked out completely. I'm not sure if the s10 has a brain but that could be faulty etc..

Passable 2 things here, a bad ground, or the alt is not providing eneff output.

Check the voltage with the lights off and then on.

If it drops at the battery the alternate is not putting out eneff.

A new alternator and belt would help.
