why does my diesel van take so long to warm up?!?

it takes about 6-7 minutes for the heating to turn on and now that it's winter that is not a good thing! how can i speed this up?

van is a vauxhall combo

    If you can temporarily restrict the air flow to the radiator it will

    help.

    you have no stress.the diesel engine is a self ignition temperature so it actually needs time for the fuel to burn so as to turn on.that is how it has been made to function.
