Stupid answers chosen for best answers by askers?

It's easier if you don't care, of course.

The Asker often selects his/her friend's answer as best, even though it's clearly not, to give their friend those ten points. Sometimes the Asker has more than one YA account and simply seesaws between them, awarding himself points. (Gawd, find a better use for your time!) Other times, the Asker rewards Contacts.

In the end, it doesn't matter when the Asker does something really stupid and shallow, right?

I don't think much effort goes into the choosing of Best Answer. Sometimes the "asker" will choose an answer as Best Answer and then ridicule the person with an added comment. I think all that goes to prove that YA is used by such a wide variety of folks, we can't even guess what motivates them. Consider this a way to fight boredom and do not hope for excellence in the exchange of information.

Some people are just that stupid and dishonest. They think it's ok to commit a wrong to someone else just because they have been wronged. All this does is increase the circle of anger and violence.

Sometimes people leave questions deliberately seeking out hateful answers. Sometimes I will address them, sometimes I will ignore them.

Sometimes people are just looking for funny answers. Usually you can tell by the question. I leave funny answers from time to time, if I can see that the question was clearly meant as a joke.

I read alot of the questions and answers daily when I can..I like to try and be helpful on here if at all possible and I don't quite understand why people choose such ignorant answers sometimes.Is there a loop we don't know about?Why answer a question if for a person if your not going to bother even trying to be helpful to them?I don't get it either.

Some people have more then one yahoo account and can vote for their own answer.

Also, it's up to the asker to pick the answer that helped them the most, even if it's just because it gave them a laugh.

But dont' take it too seriously, you need to have a sense of humor about these things.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder to one person what might seem comical, silly, stooopid (stress the o's), might be intelligent, smart, to the other.

You're probably upset with my answer because I'm sorta defending them. Yet there have been times (dang it's just 10 points) I have felt hurt because I was not selected b.a. and checked out the best answer selected and realized the question was NOT what I thought they were asking. So they were Looking for a so-called silly, dumb, ignorant, stooopid answer.

yes people do this because they want to choose an answer for only their fans........first when i joined the community if i asked a question....and i received any answer from my fan....i alwasys examined the health of the answer and then decide....which one is the best.......the lobby culture is growing here like politics. dont worry this is a part of the hobby.

I have gotten COUNTLESS of my answers given BEST ANSWER when I was being totally sarcastic... I have even been given BEST ANSWER from someone for calling them AND their question IDIOTIC...

GO FIGURE... sometimes I just look at what got a best answer and walk away shaking my head.

I know of people who choose friends' answers to boost their points.

You know, I've often wondered that too. I sometimes feel as if answers is totally pointless because of that.
