would you complain to the manager?

woman oders breakfast(eggs,toast buttered,fruit,bacon,

pancakes,hash browns,coffee, juice, grits) waiter brings every thing perfect and fast except, the toast is not butterd, the butter is on the side, woman says i ordered the toast butterd , waiter does it, at the end woman complains to the manager about the toast not buttered. waiter get disiplined. also make note the woman over weight, out enjoying breakfast every week while her husband slaves away at the only job the family of 4 has to support 2 adults,one teenager,one colledge aged boy. three car loans, close to bankruptcy, and tax evasion,

i believe the condoments are put on bye the consermers taste.

    I think buttered bread should be the last thing your worried about. How about focus on car loans,bankruptcy,and tax evasion. Waiters and waitresses have a hard job, it didn't warrant compaining to the manager. Think about it.!!!!!

    To turn the situation around.......when I order toast I always ask for it dry. If it came buttered I would, and have, mentioned it to the waitress but I don't think something that trivial should be mentioned to the manager. It's not the servers fault. It's the fault of the cook who didn't bother to pay attention to the order.

    Now....if the server didn't write it down then it's not the cooks fault. I would just ask for what I ordered and leave it at that.

    Some people just love to complain.

    Yesterday we went out for breakfast and I ordered two poached eggs but asked that they be put in a separate dish and NOT on the toast. The waitress said, "No problem".

    They came on top of my toast. Now, that was the waitresses fault for not noticing the mistake before bringing it to the table. And BTW, I didn't complain, I just got rid of the bread and enjoyed my breakfast.

    If you feel that you cannot approach the manager direct or their line manager. The best way is to esculate through your union or your Head Office HR Department - or better still if your manager is on a fast track programme they will probably have to have an employee feedback survey (360 feedback) which will be reviewed by the HR dpeartment to see what impact they have on the branch. My advice would be write a letter (keep a copy) and ask for it to held in your file, and cc the manager in. It may make you feel a bit uncomfortable but get in there now before it turns into something more unpleasant

    My wife is a waitress and it's disgusting how some people treat her! Men think it's ok to try and pick her up, women are nasty for no reason and most children have no manners at all. Should have spit in the butter!!! Any waitress or waiter that gives me a decent meal and a smile gets a full 20% tip; if not more.

    BTW - spell check works.

    I think the doors on restaurants and grocery stores should be 14 inches wide. That would keep the fat people out, solve the obesity epidemic, and make the dining experience more enjoyable for the rest of the people.

    If there was something like the eggs were raw, coffee cold, etc then you complain politely.

    I know the kind of woman you are talking about. She was probably screaming and yelling. If I was manager I would tell her she can't come here anymore.

    Every time my wife and I go out to eat, fast food, steakhouse, fine dining, anywhere.... we always see at least one person over 400 lbs. who is eating stuff they shouldn't be eating.

    Yeah, I'm 10 lbs or so overweight, but come on.

    I would not complain to the manager that my toast wasn't buttered. Thats the cooks job, why blame the waiter.

    To complain is just being picky. Butter your own bread, lady! I always ask for mine on the side b/c I can't stand when my toast is soggy w/ butter. Everyone has their own preference when it comes to condiments. Being in the service industry, I hope he got a good tip!

    I agree, the butter is always separate just in case you do butter it and they didn't want it to be.

    I'm a kitchenhand and this is how we would do it if we served toast. The thing about her being overweight means nothing if she's a paying customer.

    Ordering the waiter around is the closest thing she will ever have to a management position. I bet the WHOLE wait staff will really pay SPECIAL attention to her next order ;-)

    first of all, GET OVER IT! many times a server will bring condiments on the side because these days, just about everyone wants everything "on the side". general rule as a server, you can never go wrong with that. this is not something to complain to management about. get your priorities straight. we are servers, not servants.
