Ortho Tri-Cyclen (birth control) Question?
I suppose this is more than one question actually.. :)
Ok, so I know that the week you take the inert pills, you're supposed to get your period. I haven't gotten mine yet, and I did take a pregnancy test to make sure I didn't have a little surprise waiting. Is it possible to just skip inert pills and start over with a new week and not get your period?
Also, can you have sex during your week of inert pills?

I'm not on Ortho, but I'm on the pill, Yasmin to be exact, but I never get my period until 4 days into my inactive pills. You can skip a period on the pill every once in a while by just not taking your inactive pills and going straight to the active ones. But don't do it all the time, just have your doc prescribe seasonale, or something that is made to give you 4 periods a year. Good luck!!!

there are some forms of ortho cyclen (as well as other birth control like, seasonique) a doctor can prescribe that doesn't have inert pills. this birth control will give you a continuous supply or hormones and prevent you from having your period for a certain amount of time.
ideally you're suppose to get your period with the first day you take those inert pills. but if you haven't been taking your pills on time, at EXACTLY the same time each day, it can push back the day you get your period for the month. it's nothing to really worry about, unless you've been missing pills and haven't been taking them. and yes you can have sex during the week of inert pills. birth control blocks your body from ovulating. it mimics the hormones produced normally when you're not on birth control.

Are you completely out of the inert pills? I know mine didn't come until i was like 3 pills into it. I would just continue taking them as directed.

ok here goes. the pills you take when you are supposed to be getting your period are just sugar. i was like WHAT! what a rip so i asked questions. they say(by they i mean planned parenthood) that the green pills(sugar pills or inert pills) are supposed to be only to get you used to taking pills, they are not needed so you dont really have to. also, if you wanted to just skip your period you could just start a new pack of b-pills right after that saturaday when you run out of them, that way you never get a period. also, i asked if i could get preg if im just taking the green pills, they said no, cause technically im supposed to start my period. ???????? im still????? what????but there you go.

Yes, it is possible to skip the placebo pills. You can either
1 - Not take them at all and have your normal week off
2 - Not take them and go right to your next pack and skip your period for that month. (Girls sometimes do this if they have a planned vacation or 'special event' planned.
Know that if you go right into your next pack of pills, you may have spotting or light bleeding. Also.. if you do this on a constant basis, you periods will get heavier and heavier as your uterine lining is building up.
Yes, you can have sex on your week off.
