Ideas on instructonal video series?
I know a lot of people here down play the role of video but I have a question. I want to develop a series of video instructonals on MMA and Aikido (for the most part) I would like input as to topics and ideas as to what, in those areas, you would want to view. I want them to be differant than all the others out there, if possible. Any idea as to titles you'd like to view that maybe you haven't seen much of? I have alot of ideas but I want the point of view of those who would be viewers and those who would be buying the dvd's. Their views, being yours, would be utmost important. I don't want to develop several video that no one is intrested in.
I know how some can be so just go on the assumption that I have the skills to pull this off both in martial arts and in marketing. I just want ideas as to a few good video ideas on Aikido and MMA, as well I have mod. skill in Kali/Escrima so if you want to toss in a few ideas there feel free.
What do you want to see?
I think that the Yahoo answers is a good place to get some views from martial artist. And please just assume for this question that what ever is placed in these series I have the skill to do, just assume. I know it's difficult for some to be able to do. Now, any specific idea as to what, in the realm of MMA or Aikido, you'd like to see in an instructional video? Please

I would like to see a video/dvd that covers drills, etc. that I could do on my own. A lot of videos show stuff with a partner, but not all of us have someone to train with outside of the dojo. So, anything that could be practiced alone would be useful in my opinion.

Maybe you should do a research on your market audiences. Get them to do a survey. That is more accurate then asking here since we are talking about a substantial investment.
Another thing is MMA and Aikido audiences want different thing. Eg. MMA people are more interested in stress tested skills that isn't practiced with a complying partner. While Aikido is more technical and requires sensitivity on both side.
Lastly, you also need to research on what has already been done in the market so that you don't get branded a copy cat. After all, you should be showing what you are best at doing, and make sure even a white belt in Aikido can understand you. Good luck!

Here's an idea. If you're not a master in an art, don't try to teach it. If you're a black belt in aikido teach that, leave out the rest.
