I wasn't sure about Yahoo!, but I'm pretty sure that Google and Microsoft agreed to restrict free speech in China at least a year or two ago.
But take heart. Not only will the computer nerds figure a way out of this one, Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft and anyone else will wish they had not compromised down the line. I'm not threatening or wishing vengeance on anyone. Its just the law of reciprocity. You cannot stop it. What goes around comes around.
As for me, I pray the Red China, No Korea, and even Cuba as well as Tibet and other countries will one day have complete freedom similar to what we have in the west.
And I pray the these Computer media giants whom we have come to rely on very very much will repent and assert their rights whether it be in Red China, or Tehran! The west has done enough bowing down to the tyrants.
