I have a 30 year old bottle of Cointreau ... is it safe to use?

We found this 3/4 pint bottle in my in-laws' liquor cabinet; we figure 30 years because that is the last time we had a dessert and demi-tasse gathering at their house. It was opened then; perhaps we used three or four shots that evening. I find crystalized sugar under the metal screw on top; otherwise the remaining liquid appears to be clear and clean. I'm not an expert on liqueurs ... would this still be good for cooking or baking?

Update:

okay; what can I do with it besides margarita, coffee drinks? any recipes for cake, biscotti or other desserts?

Cointreau can stay almost endlessly - unopened or opened. The alcohol and sugar acts as a preservative. It will lose some of its flavor though once opened and a fews years into its life.

It doesn't really have an expiration date per-say. As long as it hasn't dried out or become sludge it is fine. It may have even improved over time with the flavors blending and mellowing.

    It's still 100% fine...

I use it in Kamikazes and Jello-Shooters...
