King Charles as an Apt Dog?

Hello! I've been looking for a good dog to have in my apartment and spent some time with a King Charles today. She was an adorable dog, good temperment, very enegetic but so cute. I think she may be the dog for me..any input from current/past owners?

    cavaliers make WONDERFULL apartment dogs.

they are lap dogs, very loving and can get enough excersize with just a walk (so dont need alot of indoor space)

the BIG things to remember with cavaliers, they are prone to ALOT of health problems, if your looking for a puppy its VERY important to find a VEYR GOOD breeder, NEVER buy from a petstore or backyard breeder it will end in heartbreak. the breeder shoudl do ofa, cerf, and lots of other genetic testing they should also show their dogs.

or check out the shelter, there are lots of cavys...

I own a King Charles and she is my best friend as well as one of the best dogs I have owned, they are pretty loyal to basically the main caregiver in the household, and they are easy to train also! I think they would make good apt. dogs as long as you walk it before leaving for the day and as soon as you get home also!

My brother in law has two of them.

Energetic means they need lots of excercise. They are expensive dogs, so make sure you're prepared to shell out some bucks. I wouldn't recommend getting a full-blooded dog of any kind, but I'm more of a rescue-dog fan.

KCS are a cute breed. Just make sure you're ready to commit to daily walks at least 45 min/day and you'll be OK.

    hi

i have a cavalier and she is now 11 months old and she is perfect for an apt, she loves going out for walks but she also loves just to curl up on your lap when your watching tv. so as long as you are prepared to walk them daily they are fine in an apartment.

    good luck with it
