Advice on how to install stuff on a Mac computer?
My mom's boyfriend has a Mac computer, but i have no clue how to work it. My boyfriend and I like to webcam, since he's in Iraq, currently.
I had a laptop, but it stopped working and needs to be repaired.
My question is...How do I install a Philips webcam cd onto a Mac computer? I have put the cd in, but it doesn't automatically install like it did on my laptop. When I click on it, (Since it appears on the desktop) it won't allow me to install it.
Is there a special way to install stuff on Macs or something? It doesn't seem to do it normal, like other computers.
I really appreciate any pointers or advice.

No, the CD won't autorun like it would on a Windows computer. Double-click the icon on the desktop and look at the icons in the window that appears. If there is a software installer for Mac, it would probably be called something like "Install Mac Driver" or it would be in another sub-folder called something like "Mac".
If you can't find a Mac driver on the CD, you'll have to go to the support section of Philips website and see if you can download a driver for Mac. Once you've downloaded it, just double-click to start the installer and follow directions like you would on Windows.
Good luck.

Some programs like that are only for Windows, you often need to buy a whole different program especially for Mac's, they're usually not the same. If the CD-Rom doesn't say anything abou Mac's on it, it won't work. You'll have to buy a Mac webcam program.
