Which of these two types would you prefer for a friend?

1. Someone who is brutally honest, and tells you everything no matter what, even when you don't want to hear it.

2. Someone who is too polite to tell you anything detrimental/negative to you, even when sometimes you want his/her honest opinion.

I like the friend Someone who is brutally honest, and tells you everything no matter what, even when you don't want to hear it.

Because that is what I do and I like when people are honest with me rather then lie even if it hurts my feelings. You can be honest and not do it in a bitchy way.

I'd prefer the first type of friend. If you can't have a friend who's honest with you, it'd be a lot harder to build a relationship with that person if they aren't honest with you. Not being honest and too polite means they can't open up to you.

That is what true friends do!

Someone who is honest for sure. The truth hurts sometimes. I would hope that I would be that friend too.

It's easy to dump someone and move it. I don't want to live in a lie, thanks.

number1 because if u dont have an honest friend they may ruin ur life u may hear rumers that are not true and ur friend knows about it and did not tell u then it is going to be a big problem

Source(s): I should know because it happened to me last year

Neither, one is not brutally honest, just brutal, the other is equally wrapped up on them self, they just are less vocal about it.

    first one, definatly.

one of my friends didnt want to be mean and say something to my face so she told someone else about it because she felt like she had to tell someone or something like that and now the whole school is talking about it

First one. Even if it's hard to hear something, it's always better in the end.
