Which Discworld novel would you like to see as a movie?

From all of Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels which one would you most like to see brought to the big screen? I know that pre-production is currently underway on The Wee Free Men, but which other books would you like to see? Personally, I think one of the best ones would be Monstrous Regiment as it is a good stand alone novel.

Also, what is your opinion of the Hogfather TV adaptation? Personally, I thought it was great apart from two characters. I don't think they acurately captured the essences of Nobby Nobbs and Mustrum Ridcully. Other than that a great attempt I thought.

Update:

Oh no! I know this is heresy Anchor but out of all the Discworld novels I really thought Mort was one of the worst. Although, I have heard that the attempt at making Mort has been bandied about for quite a few years now.

I love the witches trilogy but i'm just not sure how well they would translate to the screen.

I think that nan from the Royle Family would be a great Nanny Ogg though.

Maybe Maggie Smith as Mistress Weatherwax?

    None...

I think the books lend themselves to reading and your own personal imagination (that movie you always had in your mind, right?!).

They can only disapoint as they'll never get it 100% right.

Take David Jason as Rincewind in the upcoming adaption - I'll probably stand corrected, but he is not MY Rincewind.

Ben Kingsley with ginger hair prosthetics - now that's my Rincewind!

How about a brand new story especially for the big screen. The book can come afterwards.

Something that appeals to all the fans and is set in Ankh-Morpork

    It would feature The Watch.

It would have Rincewind running through various scenes escaping...something. (Luggage snapping close to his heels!)

CMOTD in a cameo appearance selling sausages-onna-stick.

    A riot of some description.

A new Discworld take on a Roundworld thing - Perhaps AM's first supermarket complete with Imps in a box called a "checkitout", that write and add up a list of goods shown to them through a small hole - they then have to "beep" loudly so that the "Checkitout" opperator knows they have seen said item and thusly recorded it?

They could intoduce a whole new category of Watch - The Security Guard.

Note for Terry Pratchett - You can have this storyline, but I want to be the Supermarket Manager in the book!!!

I think you're right about Monstrous Regiment but my personal choices would be Carpe Jugulum or Fifth Elephant.

Granny and Vimes are just the best characters ever created.

Men at Arms - I love Carrott and Vimes

Hogfather was Ok, but Teatime was just a Willy Wonka / Johnny Depp rip off. Nobby was way too human but Ridcully was OK (Brian Blessed would have been better and more over the top).

I absolutely agree with you!Monstrous Regiment was awsome. I really liked Soul Music and The Last Continent, too.

We have to pick just one?! Wellll.....okay. Reaper Man, or basically anything with Death in it. I kind of liked the way they characterized his voice on the PC games, and since they did a decent job with Ghost Rider, I think it'd work. Of course, wouldn't it be a hoot to see Interesting Times as a movie? Or maybe even Sourcery?

    Mort

I loved Mort, had me in creases from moment one. Just appealed to my warped sense of humour I suppose.

    I didn't see Hogfather, sorry.

Any of them with Rincewind - he's my favourite character!

Although I think Going Postal would work well.

Nightwatch would be my choice. Plenty of action and a good plot.
