butter. both have a high fat contant but margerine have bad fats and prevervtives added. butter also tastes better and is usually contains nothing added except salt

believe it or not, i was living in miami from 2002-2004 and had this same discussion with my mom, a few friends, and my doctor. butter is healthier in the long run. But the real story is I bought a tub of margarine, placed it in my garage, left it there for seven days and nothing would touch it. no flies landed on it, no roaches gathered on the stuff, nothing messed with this tub of margarine for a whole week, i did some research shortly after this test and found that margarine is like 1 molecule away from being plastic. That's amazing and TRUE!!

Butter. Seriously. Margarine is just a step away from being plastic. Ants won't even eat it. Plus, just a little butter goes a long way.

Butter for sure, it is natural. If you looked at a cadaver, you would see all the coagulated fat from margarine, as it never leaves your body.
My daughter just learned in school to replace margarine with butter to make things healthier.

I use Olive Oil spread, which is just like margarine and actually tastes pretty much the same, but is MUCH healthier than any other option I am aware of.

Well, my mom is 86 years old and has never had anything else than "real butter", you know the stuff they make out of milk.
She's still every day on her bike and walks at least 4 hours.
So, maybe, the right combination is "eat butter, but do a lot of exercise".
