at last iphone has arrived in the U.K."should apple change it's name to Mon-applize?".?

no-one is "apple bashing", the iMac was and still is a revolution in the computing world, and the iPod/iTunes has changed the way we listen too and buy music. However i think Apple have made a big mistake in the iPhone, they have based it on the USA mobile industry, which is around 2 years behind the rest of the world. It might be the best thing on the market in the US, but frankly in the UK, you can get phones that are far far better, for ALOT less money.

Lets compaire it to somthing like the Nokia N95, ok the screen isnt as big and it isnt touch screen, but who cares? N95 has an excellent internet browser, and it can connect to the internet at 3.2mbps if the network coverage is good enough, whereas the iPhone which is being advertised as a "real internet phone" can only support speeds of upto 400kbps - which frankly is pathetic - just over an 1/8th of the speed of the N95 - the only reason O2 had the iPhone is they are the only network to support EDGE connective, which is still the fastest in the US - however networks such as Vodafone and Orange have implemented HSDPA networks, which a maximum theoretical speed of 7mbps.

Other things about the iPhone you may no know; (compaire to other high-end phones)

>Bluetooth - No file transfer or data connection, can only be used for headsets

>Camera - only 2mp, standard is 3.2 these days

>Cannot install 3rd party applications

>Only 4gb memory - For a multimedia phone.....and no external memory card slot

Overall the iPhone is a gimic, its somthing for people to say "oh yes i have an iPhone, look at how much more money i have than sense" if you want a phone that has great functionality, dosnt cost the earth, and still looks good, go for somthing like the Nokia N-series, or the Sony Ericsson W960i when it comes out.

So we're into Apple bashing now are we! Just a short time ago we had barely any competition to Microsoft, now, just because Appple have managed to develop computers (desktops and laptops) which knock seven bells out of Microsoft, everyone jumps on the bandwagon to slate them! No they are NOT into a world monopoly of whatever that other person said, they have simply produced new products which cannot be beaten and obviously that results in greater sales figures. Maybe these guys and gals don't like the iPhone because they can"t afford it? Doubt if they have even seen one working. Well I have, and like everything else Apple produces, they ROCK!!!!! Mine will be delivered within the next few days. Oh and by the way, you can get a contract with o2 for £35 a month, which is less than the contract I have with them now!

Waste of money if u ask me. By an ipod for £99 -£130 and a phone for £100 - £130 and cut the price. And u cut the price slightly.

its not worth it, its a bl00dy phone
