No, if you were unconscious, then you were unable to make medical decisions for yourself. That is what the police and EMTs do - take care of you when you are unable to take care of yourself.

Just because you didn't have your wallet on you doesn't mean that you couldn't have been taken to the hospital for treatment. How did they get your name, address for the bills to be sent....probably because you had to give your information to someone. Since you were treated when you were at the hospital I would say that yes, you are responsible for the bills....be thankful that someone was smart enough to get you treatment and that you are here today to ask this question. If you were left there passed out you might not have been alive to worry about these bills. Isn't the $2,100 worth still living your life?

You're responsible for the bill. Pay it and submit it to your insurance company if you have one.
You're fortunate that someone cared enough to call an ambulance and get you to a hospital and didn't just leave you for people to step over your body.
In future, if you don't want to be taken to a hospital in emergencies when you're incapacitated and unable to make your own decisions you need to write up a medical directive stating such and have it on your person at all times. You also need to indicate that you absolve everyone else of all responsibility for your condition and will not sue them for any reason.

You can submit it to your insurance for outside the area coverage if it applies, but the bottom line is that you were treated, you are responsible for the bill. To say that it was without your authorization is never going to fly, would you want an EMT to wait until you came to, to provide treatment in a medical emergency - of course not!

Well, true....they could have just let you lie there and done nothing. I'd venture to say the heat probably got to you.
Why do you want to get out of paying the bill? The paramedics and the hospital tried to help you and now you want to stiff them???
Pay up or arrange a payment plan.
If they had left you laying there, now you'd want to sue them, right?

Send the bills to your insurance. If you have no insurance, you will have to pay or make some payment arrangements.
Yes, you were taken there without your authorization but you were UNCONCIOUS and they could not ask for your permission.
Next time, don't go crazy and drink too much. This is a good lesson for you.

Legally yes you are obligated to pay those bills because you received treatment. Hopefully you have medical coverage, if not I'm sure they will let you work out a payment plan. Maybe they will set you up with some type of state medicaid or something.....

There's what's called a Good Samaritan Law which states that if you're unconscious, it is assumed that you don't want to be unconscious, and it is OK to care for you in whatever way necessary to return you to good health. . Next time, don't get so drunk that you pass out!

Yes you do if you are un conscious they have the right to get you to the hospital and you are obligated to pay
Why wouldn't you they were there for you in a time of need

You could ignore it and just go out and lay down in the street and die.... that would put you back in the condition you were in before you went to the hospital "without authorization."
Geeezus... they saved your stupid life. pay the damn bill.
