I can't believe you are asking this question while living in NY. I at least you lived in some small town in the middle of nowhere the question would make sense. When I went to NY the first afternoon I went out for a walk I ended up meeting a woman on the street sitting in a bench, I just went there and bought I think an Italian sausage with a soda to take a break, this person was there and I'm not sure what question I asked, but it was something random, I think "are you from here?" and it was a honest question and I said that without thinking, we become friends while there and we could have gone out if I stayed any longer that weekend. That is a lot better than the internet and any other computer related method.
