My son will be a year old on the 30th. He STILL doesn't sleep thru the night. I did do that thing were you teach them the difference. Day is bright and noisy. Night is dark and quiet. He is not confused....he just still wakes up.
It takes awhile....believe me I know. I have tried everything imaginable. I have tried EVERYTHING. Some babies just don't do it...some do.
Good luck. I hope they will start to do it on there own...because that the only thing that will work...if they WANT to. And I imagine its so much harder with two!

im interested in the answers to this question since im expecting twins myself. i am imagining that ill never get sleep for a long time with these two. murphys law will say that when ones asleep, the others awake etc.
i have 2 kids, the first took a year to sleep through the night despite trying everything. the second was a great sleeper with no effort at all.
i know people will say that routine and day/night training will solve this, but i assume you already have some kind of routine, and wouldnt be asking this if you hadnt tried stuff.
i really believe it depends on the personality of the child, but its always good to stimulate them more by playing with them and talking to them before bedtime to tire them out. but give them plenty of time to wind down before you try to settle them. give it time and good luck.

How old are they? My son didn't sleep through the night until 7 months. That's just life as a new mom. You may be able to help the situation with bedtime routines, etc. but ultimately it comes down to your individual child's "constitution".

babies don't sleep throught the night right away, its going to take alot of time/patience/and work to develop a schedule. Try starting a bedtime routine, feed them, give them a warm bath, lay them down when they are drowsy, play some soothing lullabyes, and hopefully they'll drift to sleep and stay that way for a few hours at least...

every child is different i don't know the age of your twins but waking in the middle of the night could into toddler yrs., recruit your husband to maybe switch off nights(everyother) ... maybe if he works and you don't then he can take wkends and give you a hr, to just "est"after he gets home... good luck it wont last 4ever you will get a good nights sleep someday again:) or as my dad tells me "you'll get plenty of sleep when you die"(boys suck sometimes:)

my youngest slept straight through from 2 weeks old. you nedd to teach them the difference between night and day. this is done by making noise during the day such as telly on hoovering play music don't try to be quiet if they are asleep during the day. off a night keep everything quiet so they will know that that is the best time to sleep as they won't be disturbed by noises
