Packard lifters were hydraulic & did away with the need for pushrod adjustment but the VL oil pump didnt always have enough volumn to keep them pumped up without modifications

Sounds cool when you tell people "Oh yeah, I'm runnin' Packard lifters, got me some Studebaker pushrods and a Duesenberg cam. I was thinking about gettin some Hudson intake valves, but sorta hopin I could find some Terraplane valves instead. Oh yeah it's got a Crosley magneto too. Basically every part on the bike is by companies that don't exist anymore. It's even got an AMF frame!"

Source(s): YEAH I know that JERRY, why don't YOU tell him what the deal is with Packard lifters if you know so dam much hmmmmm???? And I don't OWN a Jap bike, whatever that reference was about, although the CAR manufacturers I mentioned were ALL built in the 30's DAH! (Oh except the Crosley, that was the 40's and 50's)

I guess if that idiot above knew anything about motorcycles, he would know that a V series HD was last manufactured in the 30's. How many 70 year old jap bikes are still running I wonder?
