Is it a good idea for a female to go car shopping by herself?

I have heard stories where females go car shopping by themselves and the salesman will charge them way too much or give them a lemon. My male friend keeps letting me down and i'm at the point where I am ready to just go by myself. What do I need to expect from them?

Anybody that goes car shopping without doing their homework is likely to lose out. Both men and women regularly get "screwed" because they didn't know any better. Women tend to be more open than men about losing a negotiation and that leads to the perception that women can't negotiate a car purchase. I would argue that men do just as badly but are less willing to acknowledge and admit that they lost in the negotiation.

Regardless, definitely consider using car buying guides before negotiating, e.g. www.edmunds.com. You might also consider using a car buying service that negotiates rates on your behalf AAA, Costco, Sams Club and many banks and credit unions offer this service, sometimes for free.

I went by myself and got a great deal and a real reliable car. Go on your own, do some research, arm yourself with knowledge and don't let a sales person push you around. Also go to reputable dealers. Not some scary lot that looks like it may or may not be trusted\on the level, or just some car off the street if you are not automobile engine savvy that is where the risk is. Maybe you can even find a female sales person if that will make you more comfortable. Have fun!

as long as you're smart and do your homework, that won't happen. Look at a car, don't be afraid to walk away, and look up the value on kelley blue book so you know you're not getting ripped. also, do a carfax report so you know whether or not they've been wrecked, stolen, rebuilt, rented, etc.

sometimes you'll go to look at a car, tell them you want to think about it some more, and they'll say something like "well someone else has been very interested in this car too, so i don't know if it will be here by then" that is usually a lie. They are doing that to try and get you to hurry up and buy it instead of taking your time to think about it.

I would suggest going with a male, you can go alone but you will need a solid knowledge base. Do tons of research learn about cars (fuel economy, recalls, resale value, finance rate). I am female and I volunteered my bro to come along with me although I have not gone yet. I am doing lots of research even though he is going with me. www.bankrate.com is a good source, look a what other dealers are offering for he same car online, Kellys blue book is a good source too.

you are able to desire to talk on your mom approximately all of this ....ask her why she is making one in each of those enormous deal approximately you going to spend time which includes your bf ....did she spend time together with her bf's? you're 20 yrs previous !!! and you're being taken care of like a 16yr previous ...it's time to place a stop on your mom nonsense . I propose you're taking the canines with you ...then see what different excuse she would be in a position to come back up with ...get your individual vehicle asap so as which would be yet one greater reason dealt with . in the mean time act / behave like a 20 year previous and then possibly she would be in a position to recognize you at the instant are not sixteen anymore . At 20 you'll be waiting to talk to her and he or she could cope with as 20 year previous, someplace alongside the line you've stayed in the 16yr previous mildew in her eyes , yet you're 20 !! .

Definitely, if you're confident with what you are looking for then is no problem. Even a guy there is no promise he will find a good guy unless he knows a lot about cars and very mechanically minded.

Yes if she knows what she is doing, some males shouldn't go car shopping alone. Guys like me.

thats a big question i suppose, depends on how much you have and what you want really

something that does a reasonable ammount of miles and low milage on the clock would be a good start.

depends on the female. go shop and look and test drive, but do NOT sign anything until you go home and think about it.
