Anyone ever quit taking Amitriptyline?
I take 10 mg Amitriptyline nightly for sleep. Has anyone ever taken this med and then stopped? I also take Paroxetine (Paxil). I know I get very ill when I try quitting the Paxil. Would it be the same with the Amitrityline? Does it cause side effects if you miss doese or stop suddenly?

I took Amitryptaline for migraines and I stopped cold turkey because I was retaining urine and getting chronic UTIs. I also suffer from depression and take Zoloft as well. I didn't have any problems when I stopped, not even rebound headaches. Amitriptayline is a different kind of med than Paxil or Zoloft (a tricyclate not an SSRI) so will not have the same withdrawal effects.
