There were 3 historical events that happened on this day, two involving baseball, one that didn't.

Update:

Ok --- why they didn't put this under baseball is beyond me. Charles, you got the two BB answers, but the other answer which by the way was Bram Stoker (not Stroker) wasn't the third I was looking for --- still gave you a thumbs up.

    1912 - Opening day for baseball stadiums Tiger Stadium in Detroit, Michigan, and Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts. Titanic Sank.

    1.) Fenway Park, home of Boston Red Sox opened on that day.

    2.) Tiger Stadium, home of Detroit Tigers also opened.

    3.) The Titanic sinking was first reported to the whole world. she actually sank three days earlier.
