Can you be Texas Peace Officer certified without a Police or Sheriff's Dept to sponor you? And if so, is it harder?

YES YOU MAY!! To be sponsered doesn't mean much. I wont say its harder to get a job if you were not sponsered, but its easier to be only if the sponsering agency promised you a position with them. When i got my TCLEOSE i wasn't sponsered by anyone, i just applied and got hired on. Good luck to you my future brother in blue!

yes, you can, but you would have to pay for the academy with your own money, which it depends on some states 2,800-3,200 dollars, and if you're sponsor, and you get kicked out , then you pay them back, harder, no, it's pretty the same if you ask me
