For those that believe homosexuality or acts therein are a choice...?

Or even for those that believe it was probably caused by some sort of childhood trauma...

Do you believe it is in society's best interest to put those that "choose" to participate in homosexual relationships into some sort of restricted class, such as no legal equivalent of marriage, no adoption, etc?

And if you answer yes to that question, do you also think that the majority should have the ability to subject the minority to second class citizenship for other lifestyle choices?

For example, smokers. Obviously smoking is a choice. Why not tell them they cannot have health care since they cost society more for health problems than non-smokers.

Or what about Jews or Muslims or any minority religion? Clearly religion is a choice. The majority religion in the US is some form of Christianity, and clearly Christians would like to celebrate and pray to Jesus in schools, so why shouldn't the other religions just be forced to comply with the majority?

Update:

All right, I'll try to simplify it.

Therein - in that matter, circumstance, etc.

No I am not saying that 3rd class citizens be given money, etc. I am saying that as a society, the majority DOES support the minority today for things like health care and religous tolerance (I hope these words aren't too big for you).

And the Muslim religious is ABSOLUTELY a minority in the US, the UK, and all developed countries, where gay marriage is being debated. The other developing countries are not relevant to the question.

I think you may have missed the point entirely, unfortunately...let me try again very succintly: If you are going to classify gays into a restricted class, why don't you propose resticting other groups as well?

Excellent questions! I will not be surprised if homophobes ignore your questions or just avoid answering them by changing the topic.

    I am not a homophobe...mainly because I'm gay lol...but i don't really understand what you are saying...maybe try making it a little less...um...complex...lol.

    What does 'therein' mean?

I sort of understand what you mean in each paragraph except what you said in the second paragraph. Are you saying that the 3rd class citizens be given money/support to become middle class citizens?

What i do not at all understand is how your examples connect to the "Do you believe it is in society's..." paragraph.

I am going to point out that the Muslim religion isn't really considered a minority religion...mainly because it is the fastest growing religion in this country.

SO if your saying yes to the first question then you have to say yes to putting other "minority religions", 3rd class citizens, smokers into a sort of restricted class?????

    Is that what your saying?

EDIT: oh!!! now i get it lol

Source(s): For the first answerer I think that they won't answer mainly because they won't understand it lol!
