US money supply - M1 ?

I have heard that current data on the US money supply [M1] are no longer being released. Is this true and if so, what is the reason?

Yes it's true, but what is even more important is that they've also ceased publication of the M3 reports. That states the inflation rate of the US dollar. I'm not sure when the M1 ceased publication, but the M3 reports were ceased publication on March 23, 2006 by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve. I'm sure that this was the same date that the M1 reports were also terminated. The reason behind this is controversial; but it is believed because the US currency has been so weakened in value ever since the US dollar went off the gold standard in 1971. This kept the dollar strong, since we've asserted that other nations to trade their wealth for US dollars, and made the US dollar an international currency. Now that the Euro is stronger, less inflated, and more reliable than the US dollar, this is believed to be the reason that the Federal Reserve ceased publication; to avoid the real numbers from getting out.
