Because the Adamite hates when you think you can get away with it.

Boston should pick up Bonds. Especially since the word "surgery" is being thrown around in regards to Ortiz. Yes he may be a polarizing figure, but the dude can still hit and produce .280/15hr/60rbi. There's no way in hell that any team, including the Red Sox, will pay anything near what Clemens got for pitching half a season. The jig is up, both Bonds and Clemens are disgraced...they have no leverage for money. Especially Bonds, because it's not like other teams are clamoring for him. He will sign for the minimum or incentive-laden contract and play for one reason: a ring. What better place than the AL? What better place than Boston in the AL? If he acts up and causes problems, you release him...simple as that. In the end you get a chance to get good production for cents on the dollar...if he doesn't, then what do you lose? Cents on the dollar. Only problem is that Bonds hates Boston and the feeling is mutual so there is a slim to none chance it goes down...even if it should.

Because Barry Bonds isn't a "people person" He's not the first one in the ballpark signing autographs and kissing babies. He's, for lack of a better term, a self proclaimed "prick" Which rubs the public the wrong way. You have to realize that this is the hallowed record in all of sports. The last thing that the public that has been spurned wants is the guy who is a "prick" and not a people person to have that record. That's why he's hated. Whether or not if that's the reason behind the "which hunt" remains to be seen.

Why the hell are Bonds defenders saying that most atheletes are doing steroids? Most implies more than 50%. I think statistics will show that a small percentage of athletes have tested positive, everything else is just suspicion. Over the years that was Bonds fans excuse, "He has never tested positive." Now that he tests positive, they say, "everyone else is/was doing it, why are they picking on Barry." Plus, the idiot wouldn't be in trouble if he just confessed in the first place, or at least not perjured himself. Everyone knew that he was juicing. I hope that he never plays again and the only way that he gets into the Hall of Fame is by buying a ticket like the rest of us.

Unlike most athlete's who are loveable or at least pretend to be likeable, Barry Bond's is a giant jerk. If he was a nicer guy like Jason Giambi I doubt the media would hound him as much.

Most is not the correct adjective - some is. and he is not being picked - he cheated and will face the consequences. it is a big deal because he broke the homerun record and has been close for years, and it is not fair for him to take it away from someone who wasn't cheating - there were absolutely no sign of it anyway. and since he is suspected everybody wants his records revoked because cheaters should not get rewarded. now that they have proof, the media is all over it. its really not as big a deal as they make it out to be

He's arrogant for one. He lied to a grand jury for another. He is bringing all of this on himself. All he had to do was tell the truth to the grand jury and he would have been granted immunity. Instead, he chose to lie and subject himself to jail time. This is NOT what most players do. Bonds believes he is invincible. He is about to find out that he is not.

The Commissioner hates him. I think over 80% of the athletes in all of sports that get picked on are blacks. PacMan and Bonds are good examples

Well what's anybody going to say -- your right. I think the reason is that, well, to put it mildly, Bonds is abrasive and people don't like him because of that.
Still it is double standard, no question about that.

he took the most prestigious record in professional sports. he took it to the extreme. the record says hes the best ever. nobody ever thought jordan, gretzky, or jim brown was on steroids.
