how can i assign characters to keys?

    Hi

    When in word ....go to tools......then customise....then options

    At the bottom of this screen is a box - KEYBOARD

    click on this and you find an option to assign keyboard shortcuts for all kinds of functions and symbols. It shows it there is already a short cut or you can assign one using e.g CTRL+ letter/number or ALT + letter/number etc.
