In Oregon can you drive with a minor in your car after getting a DUII,and then driving while suspended?

My ex just got his license back after 5 years and I had heard it might not be legal for him to drive anyone under 16.Is this true?

If he can, fine but I don't want more trouble if it isn't legal.

I think he can drive with anyone, sometimes licenses are given back with restrictions, which are usually removed after two years.

If his license was issued with restrictions, he would have likely been told when he received the licence.

To be on the safe side, he should read the documents that came with the license or check the States website.

But there is another thing he should look into. Five years is a pretty long time for a suspension, it might be an idea to check with a lawyer what would happen upon another conviction of DUI or in fact other driving infractions. For example, the law may say that a speeding ticket of over 40 mph may result in never being able to drive again. For another DUI he may be looking at something worse than a licence suspension.

The laws have gotten pretty tough and he does now live in another universe than all other drivers. What may not be serious for one driver may have consequences for him. He should find these things out so he isn't unpleasantly surprised.

He can drive with anyone he wants in the car unless the license was issued with limitations. This commonly happens when a license is suspended and then the court allows a person to drive to specific locations such as to and from work.

If he's relicensed without restrictions, he's all good. If the court put a restriction in place, he's not.
