There are lots and lots of parties going on on New Year's Eve. Almost every one will be at one so it will be easy for you to get an invite to one.

There are generally lots of firework displays, and I expect there will be a big one on the Thames. People congregate in most city centres, and Trafalgar Square will be one big party.

Most pubs will be open and a party atmosphere will prevail at them all, with complete strangers all joining together to sing Auld Lang Syne.

People will congregate along the Thames too, and again all will greet the New Year with an outpouring of singing Auld Lang Syne and wishing each other a Happy New Year.

It will be a bit hard to have a quiet time, but telly and radio will be special for those who want that.

Hope you have a great time.
