Why is it that when I colored my hair black, the grey that it covered up turned green? ugh! help!?

ok, I put a perm in my hair, that went well, I decided to color my grey. That went well too. I washed my hair 5 days later and put a conditioner in it. That went well. I went to bed, and when i woke up my hair has GREEN highlights, thats not going well. Can someone please help me and tell me what to do!? thanks

Update:

Uh just in case you can't see my picture, I am an African American female, so telling me about "blond" highlights wont work on my hair texture.

it probably turned green because the dominant color in the dye was green...you may want to go ahead and try a different color to cover your grey or a different brand.

OMG, how long after the relaxer did u color ur hair? If u didn't wait at least 2 weeks, you hair will definately turn green. When this happens, you have to see a specialist to start a stripping process in your hair. For right not, its gonna stay green, because the chemicals in the dye and relaxers have stripped the color and turned ur hair green. When you see a stylist, the process will eventually turn ur entire head green! There are 7 stages in stripping hair color the correct way, and green is part of the process. I suggest you see a professional and determine where u went wrong and how to fix it. I guarantee they will suggest the 7 stages of stripping,

My wife has blond highlights and she uses Generic conditioning shampoo. It's a purple shampoo in a white and black bottle. You can buy it at sally's beauty supply, its only about $10.00. You first shampoo your hair with your regular shampoo then use this stuff then use your conditioner. Good luck Hope that helps!
