will we get evicted for muddy carpet?
i have an inspection on my flat tommorrow. the carpet is dirty because we never take our shoes off! i probably should have and now do because i tried to clean the carpet. Will there be any consequences because of this? like can we be evicted because of it? i was thinking it would be a lot of hassle for them to advertise the place again etc and we always pay the rent/bills on time. just want to know if i should worry!!?

That's what the security deposit is for. Rent a carpet cleaner if you wish to avoid consequences.

You cannot get evicted for a muddy carpet, however, if it's really bad then you will forfeit your security deposit as it sounds like the LL is going to have to replace the carpet. You can get evicted if the place looks like a bloody tip, if you have extremely poor cleanliness habits a Landlord can kick you out for keeping the place a mess.
As long as you pay on time you'll be fine, but I'm sure the LL won't be happy with the state of the carpet.

You cant get evicted for a muddy carpet, but it depends on what your lease says, some people don't realize theyre not all the same. If they need to be replaced im sure mud isnt the only thing wrong with them. If it is just mud I would suggest cleaning them, but otherwise i wouldnt worry about it. You cant be blamed for time worn items such as carpet and pain unless you're doing irreparable damage. Usually they dont just take away your security deposit, thats what deductions are for but that also depends on your landlord

Go out right now and rent a deep cleaning machine. You wont get evicted but you may be asked to replace it when you move.

you are suppose to keep up the upkeep of the property,
if your that worried offer to clean it when he comes round, if you dont do it tho, your landlord can refuse to refund your deposit.
There are loads of places you can hire a carpet cleaner from, some diy stores do it now aswell.
If i where you i wouyld hire the cleaner, and make sure you take your shoes off in future, perhaps invest in one of those 'mudcatching' door mats.

Cal a professional carpet cleaner now and quit worrying about it.
