I'm out of foil!?

I'm baking an apple pie and just realized I'm out of foil to make strips to cover the edges so they don't get too brown. I have parchment paper, but will that even do any good?

You can try. Do you have any sticks of butter? You can rob the foil from the sticks and put the sticks in plastic bags. Or anything with a foil lining would work.

parchment paper will not work the best way to do it if i was in your situation would be to keep putting butter on that edge over and over

I baked one last night and it was placed in the middle of the oven, and the edges did not burn, neither did the edges of my two pecan pies. Don't worry, you might get lucky.

No. Personally, I would go to the store for foil.
