What to buy in the Philippines?
I have a friend who is travelling to the Philippines and I asked them to buy me something over there (for no more than $30) that you can only get in the Philippines. Something that would be really cool to show off back in America. Anyone have any ideas of anything I could have them buy for me?

When I came back from the Philippines, I bought for 8 $ a nice little cell phone/misc holder that goes around your neck. It looks like a tasier monkey and has the cutest face. When ever I have it on my friends all ask me where did I get it.
They are sold in almost ever major department store in the Philippines.

Oh something that i get a lot of comments on that i got from a philippine tourist store, Balikbayan Handicrafts. They're these little turtles made out of shells, turtles stacked on top of each other. Their heads boble. We put them on our car's dashboard, and their heads just boble around. They're cute. =]

anything that you can display at home or at the office....something that proudly says "made in the philippines"...and to be considerate to the person buying it for you, make it compact (not bulky) and lightweight. tell him to buy you something that he himself would want to have had it been you buying for him.

"Lambanog" (alcoholic drink, fermented coconut). One of our pride. I guess it's available at the airport. It is also available in different flavors, "Bubble Gum" flavor is recommended.

Tell'em to buy one of those jeepney-in-a-bottle souveniers. I have one here at home and it never fails to amuse my friends.
