They are a bit basic. Not a bad basic guide, but all weaning advice contradicts the next piece you read, and I found those charts no exception. Books such as Annabelle Karmel are more comprehensive and have good recipes.

I don't know about the chart. I have had three kids and weaned them all when I felt they were ready. I never even heard of the chart at all. Some of my kids weaned faster than others, but it takes work on the mother's part to get it started. If your baby is able to hold a cup in their hands and can tilt it up to take a drink, then now is the time to start weaning. Don't give anymore daytime bottles. Give them sippy cups for everything except sleeping. Only give them a bottle to sleep if they can't sleep without one. Then, over time, just stop giving them a bottle to go to sleep with. Doesn't take long, but all babies are different.

i didnt use a chart for weaning my son i just went of how he felt eating solid food. although it does sound about right 4 weeks for 3 meals a day (providing ur child allows this). weaning can be very frustrating if you child refuses. i would suggest to ditch the chart and play weaning by how ur child feels about it all as its only ur child who can tell u (not litterally by speaking but by actions etc lol) that they are ready for solids and want so many meals a day

Depending on when you start weaning i'd say aim for 3 small meals by 7-8 months. At 8 months onwards they can eat almost anything you eat, obviously avoiding honey, nuts, salt & certain seafood.Anything thats too tough to chew can be pureed but they don't need the rest to be pureed at this age. I think if you follow these guidelines it takes longer to get your baby onto proper food when it shouldn't really. These companies make their money by keeping your baby on pureed food 3 times a day, then going onto next stages & so on.We did do jars but it was a waste of money & took her off them completely at 7 months when she was happy to chew her food & prefered the taste of our meals.

Try not to think too much about it, let your baby guide you instead. If your just starting out then jars are easier but once they get into eating food don't hesitate to introduce proper solids starting with bread, bananas, veg & so on.It takes months or longer to get them into eating so just try to relax & don't let any charts dictate what you do as they may not suit your baby or you.

Just to quickly add-In the UK we class weaning as introducing solids to baby not changing from bottle to solids, your baby will take less milk going on for 12 months. Well except my baby who seems to drink more than a newborn lol

I have it and did look at in at first. However, I find the Annabel Karmels baby and toddler meal planning book better. That and listening to what my baby was "telling" me
