It strongly depends on your needs. If you are looking for compatibility with newer applications or for new features like an improved interface and security utilities and so on and your PC can run XP Pro, then feel free to go for it. If you are still using older applications and are not about to upgrade them, then you may still want to keep Windows 2000.

Depends on your computer's specs. If it's powerful enough to run XP decently go for it. But windows 2000 is a good OS -fast, light, and stable.

If you're looking for a change of OS, check out Linux

you will could do a sparkling set up. in the adventure that your abode windows XP disc is an "improve", you may want a different XP product. How lots reminiscence do you have? some measurement 4400's have been shipped with XP, yet purely 256mb of RAM. overall performance replaced into poor. make certain you have have been given a minimum of 512mb RAM: XP would be usable, (if gradual) on the variety of gadget. stable success.

whatever makes you happy, Is there a problem with window 2000? Before you do make sure you have ample space etc to install, and go for it, once you have installed XP you will get alot of updates to download and install from microsoft so put aside a good hour or so to reinstall. I could have said if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I agree with Phil. Unless there is a compelling reason to upgrade to XP, you are going to have some of the problems that plague Vista upgraders:

    ..driver problems

    ..compatability issues

..software that wont work with XP that work with W2000

..hardware that wont work with XP that worked with W2000

Instead of spending hundreds on XP, plus the new hardware, software, and memory you will need, why not get Linux instead? It will be a TRUE upgrade..more secure, with dozens and dozens of advantages over Windows. One is available at www.kubuntu.org for free. You can even try it "live" for free.

If your computer spec meet the requirments for XP, then I would go ahead and get it.
