Why is a government important?I am trying to help my son with his homework..... Please help?

If we were all angels, then there would be no need for government. However, we all know that people are not angels. Philosopher Thomas Hobbes said we are all greedy and selfish. Without government and laws, people would run wild over society. The purpose of government is to maintain order and prevent social chaos. Use an the example of rules of your household. What rules must your child follow? Why did you make these rules? The rules are to protect them from harm or something bad. Government protects its people from harm as well. Government sets guidelines for its people and they are expected to follow the law. Government comes from the consent of the people. We pay taxes and the government does things for us. (Police, schools, roads, etc.)

Why Is The Government Important

Many reasons, here are just some:

Collects taxes and spends them on public facilities.

Decides the laws of the nation.

Military purposes.

Supports disabled people.

Makes trade decisions.

Gives the people an organized voice through voting and representation.

Deals with waste management and public space.

Controls the air (like for flights).

Prints money and controls the supply.

Funds public safety (fire, police).

Many reasons.. pretty much everything has to do with government.

You can never have all Indians and no Chiefs.. Government leads the people and keeps things running in a society. If there were no leaders or any type of government, there would be total chaos. Government organizes the society so they can follow rules and live in a certain civilized manner.

A government is important because it helps keep a society stable and running smoothly. It keeps the citizens happy and satisfied and fixes the problems a society may have. Without a government, the country, school, business, anything!, would fall apart because there was no one to lead them.

government is important because a government create a foundation for all other issues in the economy. With a strong, well preserved government, you could build an empire. and since the government has the most power, if they use it well, the economy would never falter.

Since man first walked the Earth,tribes of humans organized and set up leaders with rules and laws to live by. One person was chosen as leader or ruler, if you will ,to make the laws that would protect and provide for the general public.

government is important bcz it take cares of the interest of all the people living in a territory, as general.Otherwise everyone taking care of his on self will lead to chaos.and there will be the rule of might.Government controls powerful and help weak.
