Well, I don't necessarily experience psychosis, but my mania with my Bipolar manifests itself in hyper-sensory experiences. This is pretty much unheard of (not in the books). Noises get louder and I get really paranoid and have to leave the place, Items illuminate in front of my eyes, and sometimes I feel like a concave lens is placed over my vision. These aren't fun, but I'm medicated and it generally gets rid of them. Medication for this stuff is HIGHLY recommended.

My friend is Bipolar as well and experiences schizophrenic psychotic episodes when unmedicated. He feels like he has to do certain things in order to 'save babies' or sometimes suddenly looks around when hanging out with his friends and thinks they're going to kill them. He tried to jump out of a window once because of this. I know he's very shaken up because of the recent onset of these symptoms and he actually had to go to a psych ward to get things figured out, but there he exercised and worked out a ton and just took the time to relax and figure things out. It's still overwhelming for him, but I can just tell he's so relieved to be diagnosed and medicated. He now wants to go Pre-law or Pre-med in school, and before he failed out of nearly every semester. I see some great potential for him if he continues his medication. I hope the same for you.

i, this is going to soundweird but it's worth it. Coffee and caffein nearly ruined me. I have been drinking lots (8-11 cups) of coffee a day since I'm eleven however around the age of 16 I started a different brand and with only 2 cups a day I was becoming paranoid, seriously, I'd call family members randomly, sure that they were dead and wouldn't answer and kept checking behind my back, had very weird thoughts and stuff but it was the caffeine.... my theory was that it was making my heart beat much faster than usual which is also what happens when you experience fear so my body was interpreting this higher heart rate as fear and then my mind was trying to find a logical explanation so this ffueled many weird thoughts anyways might want to put away all the sodas, green teas and coffee for a few weeks and see.

    Peace.
