What is the name of that cruise line?

I have seen it advertised on TV but can't remember the name. The commercials are advertising that it is different than other cruise lines because it isn't structured. You don't have to be at dinner at certain times, nothing is scheduled, it's all at your own pace.

Gotta hand it to NCL for effective marketing. Other cruise lines are doing the same thing, but NCL was smart enough to make a point of it in their advertisements and now it's associated with them.

I went on a Princess cruise in April. We could dine where we wanted, when we wanted, with only the exception of a couple of specialty restaurants that usually (but not necessarily) required reservations to get in. I think they may have had one of their main dining rooms on a "traditional dining" schedule, but we never went to that one and there were two other main dining rooms that were "anytime dining." Other than that the "rules" were basically that we had to be back on the ship before it left each port.

I'm sure there are other cruise lines with similar experiences, but NCL was clever enough to make an advertising campaign out of it.

its norweigeen cruise line, dinner is not at set times, this is simalar to princess cruise line and personal choice dinning. I have been on a princess cruise before and i can tell you that it's quite nice having times you would like to chose for dinner, also you can chose the restraunt, it's nice becasue based on the people you meet on the ship you can go eat with them, where ever and whenver, i imagine this is what norweigen is like and it's by far the best idea on a cruise, because basically they are always serving between 5-10 (at least on princess) so you can eat whenever you are hungry! only con of this is that if you do not frequent the same place every night or the same table then you will not get to know your waiter as you do on other cruise lines.

  • That is Norwegian Cruise line and they are advertising Freestyle cruising".

"FREESTYLE" means you can go to dinner in the main dining room, or any other alternative restaurant, any time of the evening after 6:00 PM.. But you will have to reserve a time in the alternate restaurants. It also means that you don't have to "dress up" for dinner, but just go "sports casual".

Just a side point on some of the places you have to pay extra, its not much, but it is something. Check their website for details. You might find it is not worth it, we decided to stick with Royal Caribbean because of it.
