So what is up with the Senate voting to let illegal aliens dip into our social security funds?

Since 1641, taxation without representation has been a no no. It was the basis of the American Revolution and is in our Constitution (but was overridden by the 13th Amendment). BTW - Aliens can't vote

Why then, would an alien who pays into social security (even illegally) not be covered by it, or be due a refund?

An illegal alien becomes a U.S. resident for tax purposes after spending 183 days in the U.S. One does not need to have a green card to be a resident (otherwise why would anyone get one?) This is by international treaty and is the basis for taxing them.

Personally, I'd like to see them have to "buy in" to social security by contributing double the usual rate for the first five years of residence. There is no constitutional objection as social security is not property and not an insurance policy (see Flemming v. Nestor). Social Security is a tax and a benefit which congress may eliminate at any time.

Because some people paid into it. Here's the problem. People in our own country, who are citizens and maybe did a little identity theft on their own.....won't get it. They will be charged with a crime. Alot of people think the persons SS# they are using gets the money and so therefore didn't do anything wrong. Problem is.....you don't get money when someone uses your SS# wrongly. They put that in a general fund. If SS is really going bankrupt....why would you open the door, for those not entitled to it, to get it, unless you wanted to make sure you destroyed it? Why would you allow non-citizens an easier time in collecting benefits than you do the citizens? Why would you say we NEED these people for CHEAP labor...that is taxed pennies for this program, when they are taking 1000x's more out in a different program funded with the same money?

EVERYBODY has dipped into the SS fund. War and everything else has been funded with money paid into SS. SS isn't JUST for the elderly either. ANY disability and children of disabled people get money from this "fund". Anytime any other "fund" is diminished....they take from this "fund". Seriously......we have illegals crossing the border....immediatly having a baby...getting free care...if they are disabled they are taking right from jump street ,funds from SS before they ever dropped a dime into the coffers.

We have disabled CITIZENS who fight for decades to get what they paid in....and they can't wait to give away money we don't have, to people who never paid in, or paid in so little it doesn't compensate for what they are taking. I mean they say so many illegals work under the table.....do that and you haven't contributed into the fund. Opened an illegal business and didn't pay taxes....you don't qualify either. Made millions off an illegal business who didn't pay in.....you don't qualify either. Seriously....very few would really qualify if they had to abide by the same rules as the rest of us.

I was married to an independant business owner. He opened an IRA account for me because for whatever reason he didn't pay into SS. When I needed welfare.....I couldn't get it because of the IRA. So I lost any and all funds for my retirement because of that. If it would have been in SS....I'd be set. We have people dumping their funds in other countries....building homes in other countries while they are claiming poverty here, because there is no paper trail...not to mention the multiple identies. Or the child credits to citizens for the children of illegal parents living in their homes. NOT supporting.....but gaining credit for supporting. The whole scam is so deep this country could esily be just a prison and still be full.

They want to destroy it. There's no other logical reason for supporting it.

It's been going on since the Jimmy Carter presidency...I think it's the liberals version of compassion...giving other people's money away to foreign illegal aliens.

edit: During the Carter administration, immigrants who had never paid into the system became eligible for SSI (Supplemental Security Income) benefits when they reached age 65. SSI is not a Social Security benefit, but a welfare program, because the elderly and disabled poor are entitled to SSI regardless of work history. Likewise, SSI is not an entitlement, because there is no right to SSI payments.

It boils down to votes, lets face it, the democrats will stop at nothing to get votes, even if it means giving hard working americans social security away, why do you think that the democrats are trying as hard as they can to get the illegals the right to vote in this country and yes giving them drivers licenses is the first step, (they have started giving licenses to illegals in New York) You know the democrats motto" keep the poor ignorant to truth and dependent on handouts and they will vote democrat to keep their handouts"

Take note of who is doing this that you vote for ...and don't vote for them ever again.

Let them know this.

Find someone who will support our programs and systems and laws ...and vote them into office.

Let the snakes and swindlers be aware. We are on to you and the party is OVER. Good by to you ...and hello to the next Senator or Rep.

Either do good for the American citizen or we will vote you out. Forget the illegals. Color that group GONE!

I am against this as well. We really need to get our government's focus back where it belongs, on the USA and our LEGAL citizens.

SSI is already in danger and it really doesn't need a bigger push.

Simple... we are being sold out by members of *BOTH* Parties. The Sovereignty of this country is on the auction block... Soon you could be living in MexAmerCan and you won't have to move an inch to be there... Pay attention to what they are doing to us.

We should have a special tax just for those in the Senate who give away our tax dollars like our hard earned money is just their private slush fund to with it as they please

So am I, yet people still continue to support the democrats who will fight you to the death to ensure more rights and benefits for illegals.
