Why do hot dogs come 8 to a pack and buns have 10?

food products are sold by the pound....it's a marketing

thing for the producers of these products...thats why if you buy huge hot dogs, they come 6 to a pack and the small skinny ones can come up to 10 per pack...it all has to do with cost..

and profits..same with bread..the thinner sandwhich type has more slices than the regular sliced bread...it has to do with weight...

Buy the jumbo hot dogs, they are 8 to a pack.

Or just buy the 10, don't you ever eat a hot dog without the bun?

Very good question, all though I have no idea why they sell them like that.

I use to work in a bakery & they packages buns in 8's 'cuz they fit best that way.

5 packs of dogs and 4 packs of buns. or 10 packs of dogs and 8 packs of buns.(40and 80 respectivly) but how come when you blow in a dogs face they dont like it but they stick their head out the window?

So you have to buy 4 packs of buns and 5packs of hotdogs to come out even.

Probably just incase one or two buns fall apart... you always have 2 more buns for backup.
