    £60 and 3 - 6 points fixed penalty.

He has to receive a "Notice of Intended Prosecution" wihtin 14 days, but if he was caught by an officer who said (exactly):

"You will be reported for the consideration of the question of prosecution for the offence of speeding..." and cautioned then this has already been done.

If he collects any more points in the next year he will have to retake his driving test.

Depends what happens. That attracts a a fine and 3 - 6 points. As you know, probably, you only have 6 points to play with in the first two years after passing the test, reach the magic number and you go right back to obtaining a provisional licence, driving with L plates, accompanying driver and all, until you pass the tests again.

Hopefully, you'll only get 3 points, then you'll have to be extremely careful!

Doubtful he'll lose his licence - if you're caught doing over 100 in a 70 zone, that is an instant ban.

However he will probably get a fine and 3 points. It can take a while to catch up with you though!

If he doesn't hear anything then he's probably got away with it and should think himself very lucky!!!

It will be entirely up the the court. A speeding offence will have 3 - 6 points attached to it. He needs to get below 6 to keep the licence but if he gets anymore within a 2 year period of passing his test then again, he will still qualify for a disqualification under the new drivers act and his test pass will be taken from him. If he gets six points then its instant, he will have to re sit his test again. He will be disqualified under the new drivers act.

It takes a while. My step son was waiting weeks. He was caught at 77 in a 40. Taken to Court in Scotland. Fined and Sheriff imposed 6 points. He thought he was in the clear until DVLA wrote and revoked his licence. The reason is that any driver who in the first 2 years after passing the test incurs 6 penalty points has their licence revoked. He had to resit both parts of the driving test.

3 points and a "tut, tut" from his mum.

As its his first year of driving whats his chances of not getting caught in the next 3 years though ?

The biggest hurt wil be on his insurance. He is obliged to tell them as soon as he is found guilty - he cannot wait until the insurance renewal. Fine and points are irelavent compared to what his insurance company will do to him.

For people who have had thier licience a while the insurance normalyl let 3 points slip...but with a new licience they will see your friend as a real liability.

No he shouldn't do. 100 mph instant ban. It also depends on how he was caught. If it was by a gatso camera, it may not have had any film in it and that could explain why you've not received a fixed penalty. If you were caught by a police officer using a radar gun perhaps he hasn't filed the paperwork and you've got away with it.

it depend on how many points hes got left, basically this gonna cost him 3 points and may be £200, usually for new drivers they take the licence of you after 6 points, and others 12 points.

Yes, driving law in the UK states that if you receive points within the first two years of your licence, then you are banned from driving and have to re-sit your test at the end of the ban.
