Why didn't you drink the ammonia and the brake fluid? Dumping toxins is the same thing as because it all comes back to you in the water you drink, the food you eat and your shower.

I appreciate some police personnel leave a lot to be desired but you have avenues of reporting them. The taxpayers pay for police service to protect you even from yourself.

Have you heard of crack cocaine, crystal meth, vioxx, prozac, etc? People are taking those products and you are drinking their chemicals because they pee in a toilet that send the water for treatment, then release.

How do brand new babies get mercury, banned pesticides, fire retardants, Teflon, incinerated garbage, vehicle emissions and hundreds more chemicals inside them before they have taken their first breath? Mom drank the chemicals, ate them and then passed them to the fetus. Go to http://www.thermoguy.com/globalwarming-heatgain.ht... and at the top of the page you can see a link to polluted newborns.

You contribute to that by acting like that, smarten up you are hurting yourself.

In my neighborhood, the city actually comes by on a yearly basis and paints a stenciled-sign on the curb adjacent to the storm drain: NO paint, oil, or other waste; drains to river. There is also the outline of a fish. So...it's pretty obvious that it would be harmful to the environment to do so. By the way, ammonia (NH3) is highly water-soluble and toxic to fish. That's why aquariums have to have good filtration because if the ammonia level in the water should build up, all the fish will die.

    What is ammonia?

Ammonia occurs naturally and is produced by human activity. It is an important source of nitrogen which is needed by plants and animals. Bacteria found in the intestines can produce ammonia.

Ammonia is a colorless gas with a very distinct odor. This odor is familiar to many people because ammonia is used in smelling salts, many household and industrial cleaners, and window-cleaning products.

Ammonia gas can be dissolved in water. This kind of ammonia is called liquid ammonia or aqueous ammonia. Once exposed to open air, liquid ammonia quickly turns into a gas.

Ammonia is applied directly into soil on farm fields, and is used to make fertilizers for farm crops, lawns, and plants. Many household and industrial cleaners contain ammonia.

What happens to ammonia when it enters the environment?

Ammonia is found throughout the environment in air, water, soil, animals, and plants.

Ammonia does not last very long in the environment. It is rapidly taken up by plants, bacteria, and animals.

Ammonia does not build up in the food chain, but serves as a nutrient for plants and bacteria.

KILLER, Why the heck would you do that

Sewerage from the house gets to a treatment facility where it gets neutralized with other environmentally disparaging waste. While the gutter in the street merely guides rainwater down into the earth where it is filtered and used later by people with wells and eventually runs in rivers and streams where wildlife drink and fish swim.

Your effort to promote a healthy environment improves life for all animal and human life and therefore becomes a plus for yourself and your future progeny. Loosen up and think first so you don't pollute our earth. There are too many people not caring as it is and the planet is getting unlivable.

LOL, you got yelled at because everything you poured down that gutter you will be drinking! That's why the rain gutter is meant for just that RAIN.

The cop is a stupid moron who doesn't understand the nature of ammonia. It is one of the most non-hazardous things you can dump into the environment. It occurrs naturally in animal excrement. In a lake, animals produce it and the aquatic plants consume it. They need soluble nitrogen (ammonia) to grow. If you were to dump a tanker truck of it, then you would have a problem.

A little bit actually helps the environment. When you use Miracle-gro you are adding a close cousin of ammonia to your house plants.

because the water that goes into the drain on your street goes directly into our water supply to be treated. next time pout it into your toilet that way nobody will see you.
