Would anyone like to leave a memorial to Bill Hartack?

He died Monday night. One of only 2 jockeys (the other was Eddie Arcaro) to win the Kentucky Derby 5 times. Probably his greatest mount was the great Northern Dancer, who won it in 1964.

RIP

Godspeed, Bill, Godspeed. You were driven to win and you won't be forgotten.

You got the mount on my beloved Northern Dancer when "The Shoe" Bill Shoemaker passed... HUGE MISTAKE! You gave an awesome ride that day, and even though I was just a kid, it raised goosebumps on my arms and the hair on the back my neck too. One of the thrillingest rides I have ever seen. YOU WILL BE MISSED.

I loved Bill Hartack. He had the grits and determination to ride five Kentucky Derby winners. He pinpointed the exact time to make his move, which most were winning ones. He was one of the best jockeys the U.S. has ever seen.

God Bless you Bill! You rode my first winning pick for the Kentucky Derby in 1962,"Decidedly".
