Razr battery indicator problems?

I just got a Razr V3 and when ever I plug it into the charger it starts to charge but flahses a solid red bar. It charges for ever and never says "Charge Complete". When I need to take it off the charger it reports three green bars, then within seconds it show a solid red bar again and beeps a low battery. However, I can use the phone for days before it dies. I know it is not the battery because it does the same thing with a brand new battery and I did get it to Fully Charged once but only that once.

Is it some voltage monitor problem that reports a false charge level? Or do I just need to get a new phone because I have no way of knowing the battery level until it dies.

Update:

I have tried a new battery and there is no liquid damage. The liquid indicators are white. I will try a new charger and if it is ineffective I will look into warranties/exchange.

Usually it's a battery problem, or a charger problem. If it hasn't been 30 days, you should try to take it back and exchange it for a new phone. You have 30 days to cancel usually. I know at Best Buy you could take the phone back within thirty days and as long as it was damaged they would just swap it out right then and there. If the place you got it from won't do this, I would just return it all together and go through a place like Best Buy and get it there. If it's already starting to show issues, it will most likely start showing more the longer you have it.

I have seen this a lot with liquid damage. Before you take your phone to your carrier, check the liquid indicators on both the battery and inside the back of the phone. They should be white. If they are pink or red to any degree, you have liquid damage and the warranty is voided. Insurance should cover this if you have it.

sounds like you need to replace the battery for a new one.

Where did you purchase the phone? bring it to that carrier and have the technicians take a look at it and they can diagnose the problem.

*tip- only charge your phone when its at the lowest batter point, or a few hours after you see it has 1 bar left.

    good luck!

This is a pretty common problem for the Rzr phones.. contact the provider and see if you have a warranty option.
